Course Overview

The BA (Hons) validated in Fashion Design and Marketing is a three-year degree structured to progressively develop your creative, technical and professional skills across fashion design, communication and industry practice.

In the first year, you will build foundational knowledge in fashion design principles, visual communication, trend forecasting, and sustainable fashion. The focus is on developing creative confidence, understanding design processes, and exploring the cultural and commercial context of contemporary fashion.

In the second year, you will expand into advanced fashion design techniques, digital strategies, fashion business, and entrepreneurship. You will begin to define your personal creative direction while gaining a deeper understanding of branding, fashion marketing, and professional industry practice. Studio projects encourage experimentation, collaboration, and the development of industry-ready creative work.

In the final year, you will focus on professional practice through the development of a final fashion collection, fashion show production, and a professional portfolio. Throughout the course, learning takes place with international professors through studio practice, workshops, live briefs and portfolio development, with all assessments based on practical and project-led work rather than traditional exams.

  • Fashion Business & Entrepreneurship

Third Year

  • Final Fashion Collection (Major Project)

    Undertake a major self-directed project that defines your creative identity as a designer. You’ll research, develop, and produce a cohesive fashion collection to a professional standard. This is your opportunity to showcase originality, technical skill, and a clear design vision.

  • Fashion Show Production

    Bring your work to life through the planning and delivery of a professional fashion show or public presentation. You’ll develop skills in staging, styling, and production management. The module emphasises collaboration, leadership, and real-world execution.

  • Industry Internship + Portfolio

    Gain direct industry experience through a placement or live project. You’ll apply your skills in a professional environment while building confidence and independence. The module supports the creation of a strong portfolio that reflects your readiness for a career in fashion.

Applying to CSARTS is simple and fully online. To begin your application, complete the online application form and upload your academic documents. A portfolio is only required for applicants to the Master’s programme or for students applying through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
