Fashion Design can be both a result of the times or a glimpse of what is yet to come. Show me how you dress, and I’ll tell you who you are is an expression that needs to become mainstream quickly. If what we dress in today is a result of the evolution and transformation that society and our customs have gone through over the years, then who’s to say that what we dress in tomorrow couldn’t be a result of the new tendency or fashion statement that you discover for the world?

To understand fashion is to comprehend how society is organised and reorganised from time to time. It’s a non-verbal language with differentiating meaning that awakens new ways of thinking and behaving. It’s a reflex of our current society and a projection of a future society that you can create and influence.
Working in fashion design means assuming a commitment to the future and with the past at the same time. It involves studying and integrating ethical values and sustainability, thinking clearly about diversity and comfort, innovating at each new project and being aware that what you imagine today could be what everyone is wearing tomorrow.

If you wish to continue your studies, this course will also prepare you to start one of the NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) graduate courses in Milan or Rome.

Course certified by DGERT.

About the Course

The Fashion Design course will prepare you for the practical and creative development of fashion collections. It also has the underlying goal of instigating you to find new, braver solutions for the field.
The study plan for this course was created from a detailed actual market analysis. It proposes various context-driven simulations and real project creation that will be transversal to and integrated with the fashion market.
Cascais School of Arts & Design will prepare you to research, create, manage and publicise your products in an ethical, sensitive and competitive way. You’ll learn to be permanently attuned to society’s behaviour changes and become fluent in the technical procedures of the profession.

You’ll research references, draw and project fashion products for men, women and children, and become apt at identifying alternatives and solutions for prime-materials suitable for textile production. You’ll also learn how to use software and the equipment needed to create your collections. You’ll also learn how to identify your audience and to communicate your products before potential buyers.
