Graduated in Sculpture from the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, he has combined his roles as a teacher in Secondary and Higher Education with the organisation and guidance of courses and workshops on subjects such as Ceramics, Sculpture, Medallic Art, or Molding.
Since 1985, he has continuously presented his works in Collective and Individual exhibitions, both at the National and International levels, including in the United States of America, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, France, Spain or Italy.
He has received distinctions, including the 2nd Prize for the commemorative medal of the 20th anniversary of RTP (1987), the 1st prize in the Fine Arts competition on Diseases of Vibrations (1988), or the award for the best Portuguese Commemorative Coin of 2009, granted by the Forum of Numismatists at the World Money Fair in Berlin.
In the realm of Public Art, he created the Monument of the Air Force Academy in Sintra, Portugal, and internationally, he created the Monument to Dr. Julieta do Espírito Santo in São Tomé and Príncipe.
