Short Courses
Photographing for a Month

This Photography Workshop is aimed at those who having already some knowledge about photography, intend to develop a photographic project of free subject and exercise their critical sense.

At the first meeting each trainee should present a set of 15 to 20 of their pre-existing images and propose a theme and approach to which they wish to dedicate their work during the workshop. This first presentation to the group will be the basis of the discussion that will continue at each meeting as the new images produced are presented and edited with the active and critical participation of the other trainees in order to build a coherent and original portfolio on the theme chosen by each one.

It is intended that, as this portfolio takes shape, the images are discussed in a group, as well as the questions of various order that a project of this type can present: doubts and decisions made, the choices of approach, the public target and the ideal form of publication of each work, in a joint process of development of the practical, critical, creative and interventional meanings of each trainee, with the aim of highlighting the most profound and fundamental aspects of each of the themes.

Throughout the Workshops will also be presented cases of photographers, their projects and the different approaches to a photographic project throughout history, published in book, magazine or online: Robert Capa, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Eugene Smith Eugene Richards, Matt Black and others.

At the end of the workshop it is intended that each trainee has produced coherent, original and well-structured work on the subject chosen and exercised his / her critical point of view and the pleasure of the discussion regarding the choices and the images made, for Yes and colleagues.

Technical needs: Each trainee should use a digital camera of their choice, a personal computer with basic software for organizing and correcting the image and exporting capacity to a pen drive from which their photographs will be presented at the meetings. The availability of the equipment will be essential throughout the course period, since they must produce between each meeting the photographs that will be the subject of discussion at the meetings and which will be part of the final portfolio.
